Your September Garden Route Weekend Planner: Big Events, Good Food and Reasons to Get Out

September is doing that Garden Route thing again.

Later in the month, the Oyster Catcher Trail Run brings runners to the coastline around Boggomsbaai and Mossel Bay from 25 to 27 September. Knysna brings comedy and stage energy with Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist at Simola Hotel on 17 September and Dalin Oliver's Stuck in Dubai on 19 September.

Plettenberg Bay gets its arts moment with Raphaeli Seven Lively Arts Festival on 19 September and the Plett Arts Festival running from 25 September to 4 October.

This is a good month to make a plan around a show, then build the rest of the day around food, views, browsing and a slow drive home.

Late September is where the calendar gets especially full. Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Knysna Pride runs from 24 to 27 September, bringing colour, movement and celebration to Knysna.

Mossel Bay hosts the Garden Route Wedding Expo from 24 to 27 September, while kykNET Buite Ekspo returns to ATKV Hartenbos from 25 to 27 September.

Oudtshoorn also gets serious event energy with the Cape Pioneer Trek from 22 to 26 September.
